Legendary coach Jim Holdren suffers stroke, recovering at Richmond area hospital

 

Jim Holdren, a legendary high school track coach in Virginia, currently at Maggie Walker Governor's School and previously at Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, suffered a mild stroke on Wednesday evening after hosting the CVTF Clinic Invitational and while hosting a Christmas party after the meet for his past athletes which he has coached at Magger Walker and TJ. Coach Holdren is recovering at a Richmond area hospital and expects to be released early next week. Holdren is one of the state's most accomplished and respected coaches as the VHSL rules interpreter and president of the Virginia USATF.
