A list of the top 10 Eastern Region boys performers in each event (links to full rankings included) through January 12th. Marcus Dean (pictured above by Ryan Kelly) has been a consistent performer for Western Branch coach Claude Toukene and valuable point scorer for his teammates in the triple jump. An All-State triple jump performer last year in indoor and outdoor as well as a 7th place finisher indoors and 10th place finisher outdoors in national championship competition, Dean won the triple jump at the Southeastern Invitational last weekend with a US #5 and state leading mark of 47'4.50" against one of his top challengers for the individual state title in Rickey Blake of Nansemond River.
