Virginia's Top Middle School Girls Throwers

The outdoor season has begun and that means it is time for a quick look into the Middle School Rankings and seeing who are our current leaders. Their season will culminate with the VA Middle School State Meet on May 23rd.

SHOT PUT

This event is the most popular throws event and arguably the most popular field event, except maybe the long jump in middle school track & field. We have nearly 750 performances in our database for this event this season alone. Amongst those, 162 are over 25 feet, 38 are over 30 feet, and just four are over 35 feet.

DISCUS THROW

The more technical of the two throws is definitely the discus. This event sees a broader range of skill and less overall competitors when compared to the shot put. That makes for a very competitive top of the list, where one athlete can have one super throw to launch them up the rankings. In total there are 75 girls over 60 feet, 20 over 70 feet, and only seven over 80 feet.
