LEXINGTON, VA -- Clearly the top performance of the meet and quite possibly one of the best out of any Virginian this weekend was Steve Huntzinger throwing a personal best of 62-5 in the shot put at the Keydet Invitational at Virginia Military Institute. The throw not only was the best in the state this season, but also the best in the nation so far as no other thrower had gone over the 60 foot mark this season until Huntzinger\'s throw at VMI.
The girls\' winner in the shot was also impressive as AA state titlist hopeful Jennifer Showker won with a toss of 39-7.
Fauquier sophomore Sarah Bowman continued to amaze in her first season of indoor track with a 5:11 win in the mile. It will be exciting to see what Bowman can do once she races against some serious competition on a quality track.
Great Bridge\'s Brian Webb tied Norfolk Academy\'s Will Byrd for the state lead in the pole vault as he vaulted to a win at VMI with a height clearance of 14-0.
