Mikels won his first collegiate cross country race with a 18:54 clocking on the home course. Radford University and Washington & Lee University also competed in the meet in the men\'s 6K and women\'s 4K races.

The Keydets (58 pts) won by a 17 point margin over Furman University (75 pts) as they nearly fit their top five runners in the first 25 places with Mikels, Anthony Harris (3rd, 19:07), Ben Switzer (12th, 19:26.90), Kurt Able (16th, 19:39.70), and Graham Forbes (26th, 19:58.80).
