MileStat.com has tragic news to reveal. Robert E. Lee senior and All-State cross country Abraham Yacob passed away this past weekend. Yacob had a great close to his cross country season in the fall with an All-State 6th place finish in the Group AAA race and ended with a 15:35 5K PR run at Foot Locker South. Yacob's last race was at the East Coast Invitational in late January with a runner-up finish in the 1600 meter run. Many of his notable friendly rivals in the Patriot District and Northern Region including Ahmed Bile, Sean McGorty, and others over the last four years as well as runners from all over the state shared their condolences and messages expressing great sadness on Yacob's facebook wall on Sunday evening as news of his unfortunate death spread.
