Broad Run's Jonathan Russell makes US team

Broad Run junior Jonathan Russell, who had a breakthrough outdoor season in winning Group AA state titles in the 300 meter hurdles and 200 meter dash along with earning All-American honors in the 400 meter hurdles at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals two weeks ago, has now taken his talents to the another level with the international stage next on deck for one of the state's top returning hurdlers and sprinters for 2012. Russell earned a spot on the US national team for the World Youth Championships later this summer by winning the 400 meter hurdles at the national trials qualifier in a meet record time of 52.48. The World Youth Championships will be held July 6th and 10th in Lille, France. Congrats to Jonathan and good luck in France representing the United States and the state of Virginia!
