The eighth and final day of the AAU Junior Olympic Games includes the finals of the 100, 200, and 400 meter dash as well as All-Star club relays in the 4x100 and 4x400.
Young Women 4x400m Relay - The Five Star Track Club set a new AAU national age group in the young women's division for the 4x400 meter relay with a smoking time of 3:40.38.
Young Women 4x100m Relay - The Norfolk Real Deal Track Club (46.01) relay squad edged out Five Star Track Club (46.02) for second place in the finals by a mere one hundredth of a second. Both relays featured some of Virginia's elite including a Western Branch heavy lineup for Norfolk Real Deal with Tiffany Ellick, Taranisha Taylor, and Keilah Tyson, while 5 Star Track Club had two of Landstown's best hurdlers in recent years with Tanisha Greene and Breana Norman.
Young Women 200m Dash Final - Western Branch rising Taranisha Taylor earned AAU All-American honors with a fourth place clocking of 24.52.
Intermediate Girls 400m Dash Finals - April Wilson of Thomas Dale improved her time from the prelims in the finals with a 56.01 clocking to garner an All-American fourth place finish in the 400 meter dash.
Young Women 400m Dash Finals - Briar Woods rising senior Shaquera Leach will be a strong favorite to win state titles next year in Group AA after her summer track campaign which concluded with an All-American sixth place finish in New Orleans as Leach clocked a time of 56.02.
Young Men 400m Dash Finals - 2011 Group AAA 400 meter state runner-up Kenneth Wilson (pictured left by Ryan Kelly) of Woodrow Wilson posted a time of 48.49 in the finals of the young men division, which placed him fifth for All-American honors.
Young Women 100m Dash Finals - Western Branch's Keilah Tyson did not show for the finals after qualifying two days ago in the semi-finals with a swift 11.52 performance.
