Virginia Tech Invitational Entry Instructions

Read All Instructions Before You Do Anything Else!

Eligible Schools

  • All member schools of MPSSAA and those private schools on the verified compliance list (Maryland).
  • All members of DCPS-IAA (Washington D.C.)
  • All members of KHSAA (Kentucky)
  • All members of NCHSAA (North Carolina)
  • All member Schools of the VHSL and those private schools listed as category one and two. Category three schools are not eligible.


    Entry Limitations

    Each school is permitted to enter one athlete per event and one relay team per relay. Each athlete may enter 3 events total, running, field and relay. This is regardless of seed mark. A school may enter 2 athletes in an event if both athletes have met the qualifying standard listed below during the 2005-06 Indoor season. This mark must be auto-timed in a running event. All results must be in a verifiable meet listed on Dyestat or the Milesplit network. If both athletes met this standard in the 2005 State Indoor Meet and the meet was auto-timed, the standard has been met. In the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, a school may enter two athletes if they both placed in the top 10 in the listed state association 2005 State Championship Cross Country meets.

    Penalty for Falsified Entry

    Any entry that is not verified in the prescribed manner will cause the entering school to forfeit both entries in that event. The disqualified athletes will have that event count against the competition limit of 3 events. REMOVE - Lie and you Lose!

    Fees

    1. Four athletes or less: $10.00 per athlete PLUS $25.00 per relay per gender

    2. Five athletes or more: $120.00 per gender

    Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope to return your check in the event your school is not accepted. Any school that has events with 2 entries should ALSO email those entries to danielward@spsk12.net for verification.

    Accepted Schools

    The first 90 schools (approximately) that are correctly entered and fees paid will be accepted. The total number of athletes will be approximately 1800. NO SCHOOL WILL BE ENTERED WITHOUT FEES PAID. NO EXCEPTIONS.

    Entry Window

    Online entries will be open starting 3PM January 8, 2006. Your team is not entered until all fees are paid. Entries will close 12:00 noon, January 18, 2006 or when approximately 90 schools are completely entered.
