The Blacksburg boys are seeking their fourth straight Group AA state cross country team title this fall. Another state title would also be the ninth state title in school history which would push Blacksburg ahead of John Handley (8 state titles) as the most winningest boys' cross country program in Virginia. Blacksburg should be heavily favored to win with only their #6 runner graduating from a team last fall which were 47 points ahead of the state runners-up. The Bruins have six sub 16 minute 5K runners, five sub 10 minute 3200 runners, and six runners who have ran 4:34 or faster for 1600 meters. Coach James Demarco has a squad who certainly have potential to be the best team in Virginia regardless of classification and compete for a Nike Cross Nationals berth in the post-season.
