
NORFOLK, VA -- Marlon Woods of Booker T. Washington heads into this VHSL Group AAA State Meet as one of several individuals that has the capability to put their team on their shoulders to a high team finish. Woods is the reigning state champion in the high jump from the indoor state meet this past March and also became a national champion in the event at Nike Indoor Nationals. The versatility of Woods extends to other events as well in the long jump and triple jump as he earned All-American honors in the long jump and holds two of the state\'s better marks in the events this spring with a 24 foot long jump and 48 foot triple jump. Woods is the top seed in the high jump and triple jump, while ranks in striking distance to sweep all the jumping events as the second seed in the long jump. MileStat.com was able to interview the Norfolk State University bound senior prior to this weekend\'s state meet in Newport News.
