2007 BOYS AND GIRLS STATE AA TRACK & FIELD MEET INFORMATION

 

The Group AA State Indoor Track and Field meet will be conducted at Liberty University's Tolsma Track Center in Lynchburg Virginia.  The Meet will be run on Saturday March 3rd.  The meet will be run on a 200-meter track.  Each entry form submitted to the Meet Management for the 2006 Boys and Girls Indoor Track and Field Championships must show the running event results, which have been converted, from the English system to the Metric System or measurements.  All times must be converted to F.A.T.  All teams must submit to their Region Directors, the Traditional hard copy (from the VHSL Web Site) of the entry form and any State Qualifying forms that you are using instead of or Regional performance.

Failure to convert these entries by the director and/or coach will render the competitors INELIGIBLE.

 

 IN ADDITION ALL COACHES SHOULD PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS.

 

REGION I & REGION IV COACHES

You will enter the meet electronically using Direct Athletics.  Specific instructions are included.  Entries made through Direct Athletics are due by Noon on Friday February 23.  Direct Athletics will close the entries at that time.

 

REGION II & REGION III COACHES

You will enter the meet electronically using Hy-Tek Team manager or Team manager Lite.  Your electronic entries will be submitted via email attachment to your Regional Director.

 

ADMISSION: will be $7.00 for the day.  No charge for pre-school children accompanied by a paying spectator.  Each participant will need his/her competitor's number for admission. 

 

COACHES MEETING: The coaches' meeting will be at 8:30 Saturday morning.  The meeting site will be announced.  Coaches will pick up packets at a table in the Entrance area for the Track.  They will contain meet programs, competitors numbers, pins, and any other pertinent information.

 

FACILITY:  The Tolsma Track Center is a 200 meter Mondo surface with 8 lanes on the straightaway and 4 lanes on the oval.  Only ¼" Pyramid spikes or flats will be permitted.   Athletes with illegal spikes will be disqualified from the meet.

 

IMPLIMENT AND POLE CERTIFICATION: will begin at 8:00 at the event area.  Competitors in the Vault will weigh in wearing what they will compete in.  Girls Shots must weigh the minimum 8lbs 13 oz (4 KG) Boys shots will be 12 lbs.  All Starting Blocks will be provided by Liberty University. 

 

AWARDS:  Team Trophies (1st, 2nd, 3rd) will be presented at the conclusion of the meet In front of the Scoring Stand.  Medals for places 1 through 8 will be bagged and given to the Coaches when ready. 

 

PARTICIPATION LIMITATIONS:  A Contestant may compete in any number of field events but shall be limited to participation in only three running events.  Competitors in the 3200 are limited to one other event.  

If a contestant is entered in a field event that conflicts in the time schedule with a track event in which he is entered must make advance arrangements with the official in charge of the field event to postpone his trials until after the track event has been run.  No track event will be held up to accommodate a contestant.

 

NOTE:  Competitors shall be disqualified for an event if his/her coach, manager, attendant or anyone associated with his/her team is on the infield or in a restricted area.  The inside of the Oval is restricted to anyone other than meet officials.  The Clerks area will be an area near the Triple jump pit.   Coaches areas may be available inside the oval during field events if and only if safety of the competitors in not compromised.

 

ELIGIBLE TO THE STATE MEET:  Entries may be only those contestants who placed first, second, third, forth, fifth or sixth in a Regional Meet or those contestants who where properly reported by the District or Regional Meet Director as having met the state Qualifying standards at the District or Regional Championship Meets (trial or finals).  Also who meet the State Qualifying Standard, in a meet of 3 or more teams and who have submitted the State Standard Verification form to THE DISTRICT AND REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES.  All times entered using state standards must be achieved in a verifiable meet using the State AA Verification form, and signed by the meet director.  Relay teams must have finished in the top three in their Regional meet or have made the state standard and properly verified using the State AA verification form. 

 

CONFIRMATION OF ENTRIES: Contestants from a school will be confirmed for the meet unless a coach FAXES OR E-MAILS his or her scratches to FAX #'s (540) 297-2982 or (540) 297 4514. or to email address CoachjoeTF@aol.com. By 10:00 AM on Monday February 26th.  

ANY SCRATCHES MADE IN ANY RUNNING EVENT AFTER MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH AT 10:00 AM WILL DISQUALIFY ANY INDIVIDUAL FROM THE MEET.
