Meet Information

WHAT:A high school cross country invitational hosted by Radford University.


WHERE: Radford's new, improved course on the fields and trails around the Dedmon Center. Bus parking is available around the Dedmon Center. Take exit 109 from Interstate 81 and follow the signs.


WHEN: Saturday, September 7, 2002.


DEADLINE: Entries due by September 4, 2001 at 9:00 p.m.. You may submit entries electronically via our on-line form (follow the link, fill in the form and click on the submit button) or you may download and print the form (see printable entry form) and mail or fax it in. Please be sure to also mail your entry fee by Wednesday, September 5, 9 p.m. Late entered runners will be placed in the developmental races.

Timeline

9:00 a.m. - Coaches meeting in the baseball tower seats. Packet pick-up, course description, and questions.

9:30 a.m. - Girls developmental race. No age or grade limit, this is for anyone not in the varsity race or late entries. This will be a two mile race! Individual times will be called, no team score. The top 10 finishers will receive medals.

10:00 a.m. - Boys developmental race. No age or grade limit, this is for anyone not in the varsity race or late entries. This will be a two-mile race! Individual times will be called, and medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers. No team scores.

10:30 a.m. - Girls varsity race. (White Division.) This will be a 5K race. All individuals will be timed. Team scores will be calculated and trophies awarded to the top three teams. Medals will be awarded to the top ten individuals.

11:00 a.m. - Boys varsity (White Division). You may enter up to seven runners. This division is for A and AA size schools. This will be a 5K race. All runners will be timed and team scores calculated. Trophies will be given to the top three teams and the top 10 individuals.

11:30 a.m. - Girls varsity race. (Red Division fastest.) This will be a 5K race. All individuals will be timed. Team scores will be calculated and trophies awarded to the top three teams. Medals will be awarded to the top ten individuals.

Noon - Boys varsity (Red Division fastest). You may enter up to seven runners. This division in for AA and AAA size schools. This will be a 5K race. All runners will be timed and team scores calculated. Trophies will be presented to the top three teams and medals awarded to the top 10 finishers.

12:30 p.m. - Awards presentation will be held in the baseball tower seating area.


Miscellaneous

The course is a certified 5K distance.

Please have your athletes use the rest room facilities in the baseball tower area.

The course is mostly grass and wood chips on the trail along the river.

Bring appropriate shoes.

Shirts and concessions will be available to purchase.

We will be hosting both a Women's and Men's collegiate cross-country race following the high school races. All are welcomed to stay and watch.
