Meet Information

Inaugural DC-Maryland-Virginia \"High School Hammer Throw Championship\"

Sunday, June 10, 2007 12 noon

Falls Church High School, Falls Church, VA

Sanctioned by USATF (not NFHS or VHSL)

This event is an unofficial hammer throw championship for high school-age athletes that is intended to partially fill the void of not having the hammer throw as an event at DC, MD and VA public high schools. The event is open to all throwers that have attended any DC, MD, or VA public or private school, 9th through 12th grade, in the spring of 2007--whether or not you participated in any club or school track team. You may represent your club or school, or compete unattached.

This is an add-on event in conjunction with one of the Potomac Valley Track Club\'s all-comer\'s meet at Langley HS, McLean, VA (although the hammer throw venue is at Falls Church HS).

We also encourage (but not require) local throwers to attend one or both of the May all-comer\'s meets to get some hammer competition experience and to become familiar with the venue. There will be beginner hammer throwing clinics at each of the May meets beginning at 12:00pm.

Official registration and entry fee payment is on-site (cash only, $4-5), but it would be helpful for planning if you emailed me your intention to compete (no obligation):
