4/26 VA Weekend Coverage: Attention shifts from Penn to Dogwood on Saturday Apr 26, 2008

Dogwood & other meets shortened due to storms Bethel boys 3:14.71 4x400 in prelims, 3:16 & 2nd place (46.7 anchor split by Ja-Vell Bullard) in Championships of America finals at Penn as top US team! James Taylor wins long jump (23-10.75) at Penn Photos by Don Rich of PennTrackXC.com The Penn Relays has been a great success for the Virginia girls with a state record in the 4x400 by the Landstown girls, a near state record in the 4x800 by the Westfield girls, Natalie Baird becoming a three-time Penn Relays champion, and another 20+ foot long jump from Tynita Butts. Several more preps will be in action on Saturday at Penn Relays, but the attention will move away from Franklin Field and onto the University of Virginia's Lannigan Field for the Dogwood Track Classic. MileStat.com will be on-site at Dogwood on Saturday with photo coverage from Ted Plunkett and Tom Hoerner and video and interview coverage from Brandon Miles. The FHSAA 1A-2A State Championships (Florida) kick off this season's state championships as the regular season slowly comes to a close in many states. Dogwood entries now open! Mar 31, 2008

The Dogwood Track Classic Entries officially opened today on Direct Athletics (http://www.directathletics.com/meets/track/8026.html). Please go the meet website (www.dogwoodtrackclassic.com) and review the entry procedure on the Entry Information tab (http://www.dogwoodtrackclassic.com/instructions.html). The entry process is the same as past years with respect to the number of entries. I have attached the 2008 Entry Form that you should send in with your check. Please note that your Direct Entries and multiple entries sheet (http://www.dogwoodtrackclassic.com/multiple_athletes.doc) should be faxed to Rod Camden by the entry deadline: 8:00 pm on Monday, April 14, 2008.     Please note the updated Standards Page (http://www.dogwoodtrackclassic.com/Standards.htm).
