Meet Information
Pioneer District Meet Info
Date: Saturday,, May 19
Schedule Change
10:30 - Coaches Meeting
11:00 - Field Events will begin
12:00 - 4x800 Relay
12:00 -or 15 minutes after the last jumping event. All other running events will start and will be on a rolling schedule starting with girls 110 Hurdles. We will start
the running events after the long, triple, and high jumps have finished.
Entries: Entries are due by Thursday, May 17 at 6:00 pm.
Entries should be done on Milestat. Please fill out district entry form for backup.
-There is a limit of 3 per entry unless there are 4 or more that meet the District Qualifying Standards. Any athletes over 3,
please email me their names. Standards have been emailed to all coaches.
-All times must be converted to FAT.
-Athletes must have participated in an event during the regular season to participate in that event for Districts. If John
has not run the 100 all year, he may not be entered in that event for Districts. Relays will not follow that rule.
Field Events
Boys High Jump Starting Height: 50
Girls High Jump Starting Height: 40
Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus: All athletes will have 3 throws, then top 7 advance to finals for 3 additional throws.
For Triple Jump we will tape a 30 board for boys and if needed we will place a shorter board for the girls triple jump.
Scratches: Scratches are due Friday, May 18 by 6:00 p.m.. Everything will be seeded then. The VHSL rule for entries and scratches will be in effect. Athletes may participate in any number of field events and 3 running events, a 3200 runner is limited to field events and 2 running events.
Remember the declaration rule that started a few years ago. When entered, that event counts against an athletes limit. For example if Johnny is entered in the 100, 200, 400, he cannot scratch the 400 and run the 4x100. For relays, you are officially entering the team, not individuals so if you are planning on running Johnny in a relay, he can only be entered in 2 other running events. If an athlete participates in too many events they are disqualified from all events.
Spikes are allowed.
Please review the rule on dress code. The biggest issue I have seen the last few years is with compression shorts worn as the main short that have multiple logos or a logo all the way around the waistband.
Awards:
Medals will be awarded to the top 6.
Traveling team plaque to each team champion.
Region Qualification: Top 6 Individuals & Top 6 Relays advance to regions and any athlete meeting the region standard.
