The Chancellor Cross Country & Track Teams, along with Courtland High School, would like to invite you and your team to participate in the 31st Annual Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
The Invitational will be held on the New Course, this being the second year, containing mostly beautiful grass and trails at Loriella Park in Spotsylvania, VA. For those of you who have attended in the past, the course no longer runs through the parking lot to the front of the Park around the soccer field. The New Course Map is attached and can be downloaded off the Milestat website. For the safety of the runners, some of the trails have been covered with very fine stone dust provided by Luck Stone . There will be mile markers every mile. We hope that you have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you 7 September.

Sanctioning:
Sanctioning is Approved for All VA & DC Schools, and MD Private Schools. Maximum of 34 teams.
VHSL Handbook: 28A-4-1 GRADE RULE - "28A-4-2 Exceptions: (1) Students may compete on the sub-varsity level while in the eighth grade; however, no student below the eighth grade level is eligible to participate in any VHSL interscholastic contest. (2) Eighth-grade students who passed five 8th grade subjects the past school year (see Note following 28A-5-1 (6)) and reached the age of fifteen on or before the first day of August may compete on the varsity level. (3) Eighth-grade students may participate in nonathletic events for one year only while in the eighth grade. Such participation does not affect the subsequent eligibility of the student under the Semester Rule." Middle School entries attached to your Team must be in 8th Grade. If passing 5 subjects and 15 years of age - Varsity race eligible. This is a safety consideration.
$150.00 for one team (boys & girls are each a team) or $230.00 for two teams. For those schools entering less than full teams it is $25/entry. This is an Entry Fee and NOT an Participation Fee. There are no refunds. Send Checks payable to"CHS XC Booster" and mail to NEW ADDRESS:

9:50 a.m. - HS Varsity "B" Boys Race.
10:25 a.m. - Boys HS & MS Developmental Race.
11:05 a.m. - Girls HS & MS Developmental Race.
11:45 a.m. - Award Ceremony.
Please do not enter a runner that cannot finish in the appropriate time, check below.

Concessions:
There will be a concession stand. Chancellor Invitational T-Shirts will be for sale from Cre8tee, LLC. Photos will be taken and provided online. Rita's Ice will be available for purchase.
Parking:
Due to limited parking at Loriella Park, buses need to UNLOAD and LOAD in the Playground Loop at the end of the Park entrance drive.Buses are to park in the Chancellor High School Staff Parking Lot.Depart Loriella Park, turn left at the Park entrance light and proceed Harrison Road. Turn left on Harrison Road and proceed to 2nd light and turn left on Piedmont. Turn Right on Chancellor Park Drive & Follow the signs.There is a Parking Volunteer present to direct locations.Restrooms for bus drivers are available in the school.There will be refreshments and snacks for the bus drivers.Buses will not be allowed to leave the parking area until the Parking Coordinator staged in the Playground Loop is informed by the Team Coach wishing to leave that the team is ready for pickup.The Parking Coordinator will have on a Volunteer T-shirt and a Traffic Vest.It will take approximately 8 minutes for the bus to arrive back at the Park.
There is limited parking in Loriella Park, please inform parents and spectators that they should be prepared to park at the Battlefield schools, in the lot across the street behind the produce stand and along adjacent neighborhoods.We encourage the Local attending schools to bus their runners. If a Parent must drop off their runner they should do so at the entrance to the park and stay clear of the bus turn-around area.
Directions:
From South: Take I-95 North toward Fredericksburg.At exit 126A, take ramp right onto US-1 North/Jefferson Davis Highway towards Fredericksburg.After 3/4 mile, turn left onto Hood Drive.At the end of Hood Drive, make a left at the light onto Courthouse Road (VA-208 West).After a mile, make a right at the light onto Leavells Road (a 7-Eleven should be to your left on the corner).After mile make a left at the next traffic light into Loriella Park. Buses proceed to the end of the drive near the Playground.
From North: Take I-95 South toward Fredericksburg.At exit 130B, take ramp right onto Route 3 West/Plank Road towards Culpeper.After 1.5 miles, make a left onto Salem Church Road (a Chic-fi-la should be on the corner).After a mile, Salem Road will change to Leavells Road (CVS on left far corner).Go through the intersection of Leavells and Harrison Road and make a right into Loriella Park on the right.Buses proceed to the end of the drive near the Playground.
Invitational Cancellation Policy:The Chancellor High School Cross Country Booster Club will host the invitational rain or shine (2017 is proof of that). They reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event in the best interests of our participants with no refunds.
