CONN-MADDEN RELAYS
**The 2020 Conn-Madden Invitational is presenting an "Elite Mile." From the entries it receives for this event, the Conn-Madden Invitational organizers will pick the top 16 (boys/girls ) runners. The athletes you enter for consideration, must have ran the mile in a previous invitational (indoor or outdoor) with their entry-submitted time documented in the "MileSplit.com" database. This event will be scored.**
All events will be scored (Elite Mile as well), both Friday and Saturday.
It is our intention to present Virginia with a high quality team developmental track meet that will serve as a springboard to the outdoor season. The ultimate goals are to promote experience, competition, total team participation and fun.
PLACE: Todd Stadium, Newport News, VA
THERE IS NO TIME SCHEDULE. ALL EVENTS ARE RUN SEQUENTIALLY
All running events are girls first followed by the boys.
FRIDAY: 3:00pm Shuttle hurdles, 6400 relay, 400 hurdles (individuals), 800 relay
SATURDAY: 8:30am 300 hurdles (2 per team), sprint medley (400-200-200-800)
Distance medley (1200, 400, 800, 1600), 400 relay, 3200 relay, Elite Mile & 1600relay
Entries for the 2019 Newport News Conn-Madden Relays are to be submitted on-line at www.milestat.com . The deadline for entries is 11:59pm, Monday, March 23, 2020. There will be no additions, substitutions, or updates allowed after registration is closed.
The VHSL rule (84-3-1) concerning individual participation shall be in force.
Field Event Format: The pole vault is an individual event and the starting heights are based on the concept of quality vaulters. It is NOT supposed to be a developmental event. In all other field events you may enter up to three athletes per event and the team results are based on the best performances of two different athletes.
Reporting For Events: Only ONE call will be made for all events. Your team will have five minutes to report or will be scratched from that event.
Divisions: There will a Varsity Division and a J.V. Division. Please enter your Athletes accordingly. J.V. Division - 7th,8th and 9th graders only. Athletes CANNOT compete in both the Varsity and J.V. Division.
Scoring: Scoring will be on a basis of 6-5-4-3-2-1. All events will be scored, both Friday and Saturday.
Awards: Medals for the first three places in all events. Team championship trophies for Boys Team, and Girls Team separate, and Boys and Girls COMBINED Teams.

VARSITY__________Two Teams (boys & girls) $200.00
$15.00 Per Individual and $30.00 Per Relay without a full team for each school. 5 athletes will create a full team for each school. If you have an athlete from your school, that will participate in one individual event and their are no more than 5 athletes from your school participating in the track meet, the fee for that athlete will be $10.00 for that one event.
