VHSL Class 2 - Region A Championship

Directions: From Interstate 64, take Exit 238 (Camp Perry), Turn Right onto Rochambeau Dr. Turn Left into Bruton High School in approximately 1.5 miles.
Bus Parking: Buses will be parking in the grass practice fields behind the school. As buses enter the Bruton campus, they can stay to the right and drive on the gravel service road toward the tennis courts, before the tennis courts, make a left turn onto the grass practice fields. We will have volunteers assisting with parking.
Spectator Parking: All spectators may use the Bruton parking lot, however, Bruton will be in school until 2:05, parking close to the stadium may be limited until about 2:30. All spectators will need to enter on the far side of the high school, near the stadium. As you enter the campus, stay to your left and park in the parking lot area. To enter the stadium, walk around the front of the building until you see the stadium entrance.
COVID-19 Protocols: As of now, our county mandates all spectators and non-participants wear masks while attending our events. The stadium will have arranged seating according to the most recent recommendations. All spectators and athletes will be asked to complete a Covid-19 screening upon entry.
Team Tents: Teams will be directed to a tent location upon arrival.
Course Opens: 2:30pm
Coaches Meeting (near the stadium press box): 3:30pm
Girls Race: 4:00pm
Boys Race: 4:35pm
Entry Deadline / Limits: Registration closes on Monday April 12th at 3pm. You may register 10 runners but only 7 can run in the race. School issued uniform tops must be worn.
Timing / Bibs: Team packets can be picked up at the registration table as you enter the stadium. Packets will include bibs, pins, course map, and State meet information. We will be using chip timing. The chips will be attached to the bib.
Awards: Award ceremony will take place at mid-field / center track, following the boys race. Regional Championship trophy for 1st place Girls and Boys team. Per Region decision there will be no All-Region awards this year.
Concession Stand: The concession stand will NOT be open.
State Qualifying: Top 2 teams (boys & girls) qualify for the State Meet. Top 3 individuals NOT on the top teams will qualify as individuals for the State Meet. Coaches must submit their official State entry form to the Regional Director before leaving the Regional Meet. The 2020 (2021) 2A State Meet will be held on Thursday April 22nd at Green Hill Park, Salem, VA. Girls 1:00pm, Boys 3:30pm.

Course: Spectators can view the start, middle and finish from the stadium bleachers. A copy of the course map will also be included in the team packets. The course is mostly track, gravel road with some grass areas. Spikes can be worn but are not necessary. We will start in the middle of the stadium field and finish on the track. The 1 mile and 2 mile mark are back the gravel road. Course marshals will be placed throughout the course as well as an athletic trainer to assist with any injuries.
