Date: Monday, May 16, 2022 (Running Events), and Tuesday, May 17, 2022 (Field Events)

Place: Nottoway High School, Crewe, VA

Cost: $7.00

Generic Schedule

3:15 p.m.- Coaches Meeting

4:00 p.m.- Running Events-Day 1, Field Events Day 2 (All events will be finals done by sections).

 

Eligibles: Each school may enter up to three participants in each event and one relay team per event. Teams may enter unlimited athletes in the 800-meter run, 1600-meter run, and the 3200-meter run. All marks/times will be verified (no time trials, practice times will be accepted). Only marks from the 2022 outdoor season will be used.

Entry Deadline: All entries must be done on Milestat.com. Deadline for entries is Sunday, May 15, 3 p.m.

 

Do not cost an athlete the opportunity to compete in the regional track meet! Please read and be familiar with all rule changes as listed in the NFHS rule book and the rules clinic for coaches and officials on the VHSL website.

Scoring and Timing: Scoring and timing will be handled by Charles City County High School. Fully Automated Timing (FAT) will be operated. Please make sure that your entries are submitted to the deadline date to ensure accuracy and that all entries are entered into the system in a timely matter. Changes will not be accepted after May 15, 2022. The top eight will be awarded points (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1).

 

Coaches Meeting: No additions will be allowed at this meeting. Only deletions, name corrections, and scratches will be made at this meet. Reseeding for running events will take place after this meeting. Scratches for field events may be made at the location of the event.

 

Equipment: Each team is responsible for providing their own shot, discus, baton, and starting blocks. All competitors must use quarter-inch pyramid spikes or flats while competing. Violations of maximum length or

different shaped spikes will result in a warning, followed by disqualification.

 

Disqualification: Competitors shall be disqualified from his/her event if a coach or team member is in a restricted area designated for competition. All non-competing athletes are not to be in the field during the events.

Coaches and athletes are not to occupy the infield during running events unless they are competing in a field event.

 

*Video recording must be done in the non-restricted area. Any student-athlete, parent, or fan who is running along the track recording will cause disqualification for those athletes in the race.

 

Advancement to 1A Region B meet (for 1A Region B teams only): The top four athletes per event and top four relays per event among 1A Region B teams will advance to the Group 1A Region B championship. Athletes who meet the automatic qualifying mark/time from a meet with four or more teams and F.A.T. also qualify for the 1A Region B championship meet.

 

*NOTE for James River District schools in 1A Region B: If the James River District meet is canceled and cannot be made up, the top four performances according to Milestat.com per event will be the district's representatives in the 1A Region B championship meet.
