Charles City Invitational 2023

Charles City, VA

Meet Information

*This is a VHSL Sanctioned Meet.

Dear Coach or Athletic Director:

The Charles City Invitational is one of the rare invitationals that invite schools from all levels to meet on a level playing field. Schools from private leagues, Group 1A up to Group 6A will all have an equal opportunity to have the feel of a state track meet in what has become one of the premiere meets that occurs every fourth Saturday in the month of March. Charles City High School's Invitational garnered approximately 711 athletes at the event with more than 25 schools represented in last year's rendition. In past interactions, former Junior Olympians, college standouts, current collegiate football players, and track and field athletes have all partaken in this event..

Facilities-  Charles City County High School's Track was completely resurfaced and redone in 2022. In addition, we will have added pole vault. Despite being a Group 1A school, Charles City High School offers a resurfaced 8-lane rubberized track, three jumping pits, one pole vault pit, two shot and discus areas, and a high jump area. Fully Automated TIming is utilized and there is enough space for canopies and tents to be placed on the outside of the track or in the stands.

Location- Conveniently located between Richmond and Williamsburg, Charles City County High School makes it easy for teams from the Richmond Metro and Tidewater areas to come together as one. But this doesn't limit competition from other areas as well, as teams from around the state are invited!

Admission- Admission is TBD and tickets will be sold online. To purchase tickets, visit https://gofan.co/app/school/VA7783

Experienced Staff and Atmosphere- Charles City County High School have dedicated workers whom have experienced in each of their respective events for numerous years. These workers have operated their event for more than a decade and ensures fairness and competitiveness, while enforcing regulations and warning athletes of improper conduct. The atmosphere of the facility and staff include a concession stand that serves food all day at the meet, restrooms, a wall to display results upon completion of the events, clerks of course to greet and assist athletes, and a meet director with more than 40 years of track & field experience.

Affordability- The Charles City Invitational understands how tight some school and track programs budgets can be, but we also want student-athletes to receive ample opportunities to qualify for district, regional, and state competition. The cost of our meet is $175 for one team/gender and $225 for two teams/genders. Individuals are $25/person, with four or more athletes constituting as a team. (Individuals must represent a high school.)
