2022 Region 4C XC Championship 2022

Meet Information

Tuscarora is hosting the Region 4C meet at Morven Park on Wednesday,
November 2, 2022.
The girls will start
at 2:00 pm. The boy's race will start after all the girls finish at
approximately 2:45 pm.

Entries:

The race will feature the top 4 teams from the Northwestern District and
Dulles District as well as the top 15 runners inclusive at their respective
district meets. Teams will enter 10 runners. (See below for scoring) All
participants will have to complete a liability wavier (attached to the email)
from Morven Park prior to the contest. Papers should be scanned to the meet
director and the hard copy should be turned in at the course.

 Driving
Directions:

From Ashburn:  Take the Dulles Toll
Road/Greenway (VA-267) West. Stay left toward Leesburg/Warrenton to merge onto
US-15 S/VA-7 West (exit #1A). Continue approximately 2 miles. Take the VA-7
Business exit toward Leesburg and turn RIGHT onto VA-7 Business/West Market St.
Turn LEFT onto Fairview St. NW. At the second stop sign, turn LEFT onto Old
Waterford Rd. Continue past Morven Park's pedestrian entrance and enter at the
main vehicle entrance about mile down Old Waterford Road, on the right.

 From Eastern
Loudoun: 
Take VA-7 W to VA-7 BUS E/W Market
St in Catoctin. Take the VA-7 BUS exit from VA-7
W.  Merge onto VA-7 W.  Use the right lane to take the U.S. 15
S/Virginia 7 W ramp to Warrenton/Winchester. 
Merge onto US-15 S/VA-7 W/Leesburg Bypass.  Take
the VA-7 BUS exit toward Leesburg.  Turn right onto VA-7
BUS E/W Market St.  Turn left onto Fairview St. NW.  Turn left onto
State Rt 698/Old Waterford Rd.  Turn right onto Southern Planter Ln

 From Western Locations: Take
the VA-7 BUS exit toward Leesburg.  Turn left onto VA-7 BUS
E/W Market St.  Turn left onto Fairview St. NW.  Turn left onto State
Rt 698/Old Waterford Rd.  Turn right onto Southern Planter Ln

 From Southwest: Take 15 North off of I-66. Continue straight onto VA-BUS. Turn left onto VA-7 BUS E/W Market St.  Turn left onto
Fairview St. NW.  Turn left onto State Rt 698/Old Waterford Rd.  Turn

Parking:
Please make a right off of Old Waterford Rd onto Southern Planter
Rd.  Please follow the signs for parking.  Parking will be in the lot
to the left of the mansion

Parking:
Please direct your parents to follow the signs off of Southern Planter
Rd and park in the field on the right near the start of the course. There will be a $5 per car (CASH Only)

 Course
Description:
It is a one loop 5K course with flats, steady up-hills, some wet areas
and some downhills. 

 Scoring: Timer will
be Ken Racine with Racine MultiSports (Ken@RacineMultiSports.com). Results will
be posted on the following link, live, during the meet. A hard copy of results
will be given to the race director. The results files will be published to this
link after the awards ceremony.

Top 5 runners for each team, with only the top 7 impacting
scoring. Runners 8-10 will NOT displace the top 7 runners from opposing teams
when calculating team scores. 
  

 Advancement: 3 teams plus next 5 individuals exclusive move on to the state meet. (Reference

Coaches' responsibilities before and during the meet:

  1. Timing shoe tags (picture below) and twist ties will be available
    to the teams upon arrival. Only one representative of each school should
    visit the timing tent to retrieve their bag. Each runner will get one shoe
    tag that will get tied onto or through their laces on their shoe. Each
    team will have a zip lock bag with their shoe tags and ties. The number on
    the tag will match the runners assigned bib number.These shoes tags must be put back in the
    zip lock bag and returned to the timer at the end of the meet
  2. Submit bib numbers and handout bibs and safety pins to the correct
    athletes
  3. Collect your own splits if you want that
    information

 Please make sure your team picks up after themselves and leave nothing
on the course.
