2023 GOLDEN EAGLE INVITATIONAL - Hosted by Staunton River High School - Moneta Va. Saturday April 22, 2023 Entries: Each school is allowed three entries per event. Only one relay per event per school will be allowed. VHSL rules regarding event limitations will apply. All athletes must belong to their high school team and must be accompanied by a coach from that school. The 2023 NFHS Rule book along with VHSL The 2023 Rules for Track and Field will be in play. Submitting Entries: All entries will be done through milestat.com. ALL ENTRIES ARE DUE BY Monday, April 17th AT Midnight. Entry Fees: An entry fee of $175 for single Gender team entry, $275.00 both Genders. Individuals $10.00, $25.00 per Relay If more than 5 individuals a Team rate applies. Five or more student-athletes are considered a team and must pay the team entry as above. This is an entry fee, not a participation fee. Stadium and Throwing Field. The Throwing field will be flagged, all spectators will be confined to safe areas around the throwing venue. You will be issued a wrist band when you pay. This allows access to the field and stadium. Spectators for the Jumps will allowed outside the fence closest to the area you are viewing Awards: The first three places will receive medals in each individual event and top three relay teams. The winning Team in each Gender will receive a trophy. Scoring: The first six places will score. The standard point distribution of 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 in each event will count towards the overall team score. Seeding: All running events will be run as TIMED FINALS slow to fast. Field event seeding will be least to
greatest. Team Gates open at 8:00 AM - Implement Weigh in 8:15 - 9:00 AM Spectator Gates open at 9:00 AM 9:30 am Field Events Girls/Boys Long Jump followed by the Triple Jump (4 jumps no finals) 2 Pits on the east end of Stadium. Girls High Jump followed by Boys High Jump (scoreboard end of stadium) Tentative Starting heights for girls: 4'6, boys 5'6 and may be adjusted after entries are received. Girls Discus followed by Boys Discus - 4 throws no finals (field below the Concession Stand) Boys Shot followed by Girls Shot - 4 throws no finals (field below the Concession Stand)
10:00 AM, Boys Pole Vault followed by Girls Pole Vault (scoreboard end of Stadium) Tentative Starting heights for will be determined after entries are received. There will be pole vault inspection at the vaulting facilities before the event. Any poles found to be illegal or not of the correct weight will be impounded - NO EXCEPTIONS!ABSOLUTELY NO TAPPING DURING PRACTICE! COACHES AND VAULTERS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED! Please consult VHSL 2023 rulebook for further details. Spikes: Spikes no longer than 1/4 inch will be allowed, 1/8th inch preferable. Immediate disqualification will result if longer spikes are used. Coaches, please help us with this! Concession Stand: Concessions will be available.
