EASTERN MENNONITE UNIVERSITY PRESENTS

High School Indoor Meets (Meet #3)

Tuesday, January 10th 2023 (Waynesboro- host school). This meet is full and is invite only. Participating teams have been notified by e-mail.

Admission: NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED! Athletes and Athletics Staff Only. 

Insurance:  EMU requires a certificate of liability insurance that names EMU as additionally insured for no less than $1,000,000 combined single limit for each person/occurrence for bodily injury and/or property damageThe certificate must name EMU as the certificate holder: 1200 Park Road, Harrisonburg, VA. 22802. It should clearly state the date and nature of the event.  Please email the certificate to:  bob.hepler@emu.edu 

Entry Fees: $30 per school. Please make all checks payable to:

EMU- Track & Field. The entry Fee will be due on the meet date. 

Packet Pick Up upon arrival at entrance of team camp area on gym floor

Timing:  Hand Timing through Hytek, if possible. 

Entry Instructions: Entries will be handled by host school.  Entries are due by Sunday, January 8th at 8pm.

Absolutely no additions after the deadline. Heat, Lane, & Flight Assignments will be sent day before meet.  New athletes will be seeded as NT or ND.

Entry Limits: Five (5)  Entries per school/per event

Starting Heights: Will be determined after entries are submitted. 

Heats: Fast to Slow Flights: Preferred Lanes: 3, 2, 1 Scoring: Non-Scored Meet Finals: Track: Straight to Final 

Field Events: Four (4) Throws. No minimums. 

Results: Will be posted on Mile Stat if possible.

Facility Information: Track- 3 Lanes. (1/4 spikes) -athletes must wait to put shoes on at start line- 

High Jump - Rubber Shoes Only (NO SPIKES) Shot Put - Throwing Circle with wooden circle.

PV - Roll Out Runway- athletes must stay on mats when wearing spikes (1/4 spikes) 

Locker Rooms: Unavailable.  Restrooms will be open.

Athletic Training: Each school is responsible for bringing their own athletic training staff/needs

 *Track events will not go ahead more than 15 Minutes. If the track schedule falls behind we will move to a rolling schedule. 

Meet Day Information -Reminder please inform your team that it is a no spectator event. Parents, Guardians, Friends will not be allowed to enter the building. If student-athletes are being picked up by family members you can arrange to have your athlete meet them outside the team access area in the UC Lobby. 

-Team Drop Off/Pick Up, and Entrance/Exit will be on the North side of the University Commons next to the large Garage Door. Team Bus/Vans can continue straight ahead in UC North Parking Lot  (the lot across from  the outdoor basketball courts). This will be the only area where teams can access the building. All other entries will be blocked off and only be accessible by the EMU Community. Please do not enter through the main doors of UC or the top of the track. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM EMU TRACK & FIELD WILL MEET EACH TEAM TO GIVE AN ORIENTATION OF THE FACILITY AND EVENT PROTOCOL

-Team Staging/Camp Area - Team Staging will take place on gym floors B & C. There will be a set of Double Doors for entry and exit into the gym. These will be the only doors your athletes will be able to utilize. No team staging will take place anywhere else in the University Commons. 

- Entering/Exiting the Track - competing athletes/coaches can enter the track near the stairwell where teams entered the building. This is the only access point to the track. Non-competing athletes will not be permitted to be on the track due to safety and liability. Once an athlete is finished competing they can remain in the Clerking Area to prepare for the next race or return to the gym floor. 

-Clerking Area - Track Athletes will exit through double doors in the gym and head up the stairwell to the left. From there they will be directed to the Group Exercise Room where they will check in for their race, receive their hip number, heat and lane assignments. They will also be able to check in their spikes. This will be the only way athletes and coaches will be able to access the upper track area. 

-Spikes - 1/4 Spikes for all track events and pole vault. Spikes are not to be put on until they leave the Clerking Area and return to track surface. Athletes will have to take off spikes prior to leaving the track and heading down the stairwell back into the gym. Vaulters must stay on the runway or carpet path laid out next to the runway. If athletes are seen off the runway or carpet area they will be asked to remove their spikes and compete in trainers. 

-Warm Up Area - There will be a small warm up area outside of the Clerking Area on the turn. This area will be limited to athletes whose races are on deck. Athletes may also warm up outside.

- Team Food/Drinks - Any team food or drinks must be kept in the hallway leading up to the gym entrance. No food or drink is allowed inside the gym or track (water is acceptable).
