Union High School administration and coaches would like to welcome you to SouthWest Insurance Relays.

Coaches will be required to help run field events, hurdle/block crew, and exchange zones for relays. Work assignments will be sent out on April 17th. This help is greatly appreciated and will ensure that the meet stays on schedule and runs efficiently. 

When entering the meet, you must enter each individual athlete on your team in the events that they will be competing in. Your athletes will not be entered into the meet if you only add your school name to the list.

Event starting heights and field event minimums will be determined after the scratch deadline on April 18th. 

Athletes not actively participating/checking into a running event will NOT be allowed on the infield. No athlete will be permitted to begin warm up throws without the event official being present at the conclusion of the coaches meeting. 

Please encourage your team and team supporters to throw away trash, this is a HUGE help!

SANCTION:This meet is sanctioned for Virginia teams.  All athletes must be a current member of their high school team and must be accompanied by a coach from that team. All schools must be a member of a State Association that is a member of the NFHS or an approved association.

Entry Deadline: Monday, April 15, 2024@ 8 pm. 

Bus Parking: A map will be provided on April 17th. 

Entries: 3 athletes per individual events, 1 relay team per relay event;  all entries must be verified or entered as no time or no distance/height.

Scratches:  Email to Mike Elkins at Michael.Elkins@networktiming.net  Any scratch must be received by 12 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. After the deadline, athletes are declared! After declaration, athletes cannot be scratched from an individual race to be added to a relay. 

*FIELD EVENTS WILL GET 4 ATTEMPTS, WITH NO FINALS *

Uniforms: The NFHS uniform rule will be enforced. 

  • ALL TEAMS must wear their school-issued uniforms. 

  • Relay teams must have matching uniforms. 

  • Spikes - 1/4 inch only

Warmups: Athletes may warm up on Greenbelt outside of the track facility.

Entry fee: will be $100.00 per team. If you have both a girls and boys team it will be $150.00. Four athletes are considered a team. If you have less than four it will be $15.00 per athlete.

** Please make checks payable to Union High School and write SouthWest on the memo line of the check. You can also bring your payment on the day of the meet.

Awards: Girls and Boys Team Champion Plaques,

Top point scorer female/male field,

Top point scorer female/male runner,

Overall, Top scorer female/male,

and the top 3 individuals and relays will receive medals in each event. 

Admission: $6

Concessions: We will be having general concession.

Restrooms: Are located behind the home side bleachers.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

4:00 - Packet pick up, weigh in of implements

4:15 - Coaches meeting

4:30 - Boys shot put, girls discus, girls high jump, boys long jump(infield), and girls long jump (track side pit)

Followed by Girls shot put, boys discus, boys high jump, boys triple jump (infield pit), and girls triple jump (track side pit with 26 foot board)

Running Events:

Athletes report to the bullpen by the 2nd call located at the center of the football field. Finals in all running events. We will post heat sheets on the fieldhouse wall so that athletes can see there heat and land assignment. Also, we encourage everyone to take advantage on the online ability to check performance lists and results provided by the time company.  We WILL NOT be responsible for an athlete that misses their heat. They need to check in and stay in the designated area until after their event. 

5:30 - Girls and Boys 4 x 800 relay

5:50 - Girls 100 hurdles

6:05 - Boys 110 hurdles

6:25 - Girls/Boys 100 meters

6:45- Girls/Boys 4x 200 meter relay

6:50 - Girls/Boys 1600 meters

7:10 - Girls/Boys 4x 100 relay

7:20  - Girls/Boys 1600 meters

7:40 - Girls/Boys 400 meters

8:00 - Girls/Boys 300 Hurdles

8:20 - Girls/Boys 800 meters

8:35 - Girls/Boys 200 meters

8:50 - Girls/Boys 3200 meters

9:15 - Girls/Boys 4x400 relay

9:30 - Awards

** We will be on a rolling schedule once finals start. Make sure that your athletes are aware that, if we can, we will go faster than what the schedule says.

** Only field event scratches will be allowed on the day of the meet.
