Meet Information
We are excited to host our first home cross country meet.
Course opens 3:30 - We are opening early due to this being our first time hosting.
Coaches Meeting - 4:30 on the track
Girls Race - 5:00 PM
Boys Race - 5:45 PM
8th Graders are allows to race, but please do not enter them into MileStat.
Our course will start and end in the stadium. The course runs 90% on grass and dirt. The grass on the trail has been cut low. There are a few hazards we will have marked in orange along the trail. Along with spotters, the trail will be marked with cones and white painted lines.
Mile 1 is mostly rolling hills.
Mile 1-1.5 is flat on the old railroad bed.
Mile 1.5-2 is uphill to flat around our middle school baseball and softball fields.
Mile 2-2.75 is uphill to flat as you pass by our high school baseball and softball fields.
Mile 2.75-3.1 is a quick uphill then downhill and back into the stadium.
There are parts that are not visible from the stadium. We will have approximately 15 spotters placed along the course for directions and course safety.
The teams will set up in our bleachers so tents will not be needed. We will have coolers and cups of water at the finish line.
Several teams have asked about places to eat. Since all teams will be coming from the west, it is best to either travel to Clarksville or back to South Boston for dinner. In Clarksville, the fast food options are McDonalds or Subway. I would also highly recommend the Pizza Pub. It is right in the town of Clarksville. They do have a separate room for large parties. I am sure if you call ahead and speak with Aggie they would have some pizzas prepared ahead of time.
