ENTRIES: The top 4 schools from the results at the Concord & Liberty District Championships will be granted entry into the Northern Region Championship. Each qualifyingschool will enter 10 members into each race in the regional tournament.Seven out of the ten entries will be considered race participants with three alternates. Only those team members entered on Milestat.com and VHSL entry form will be eligible for varsity regional tournament competition. Each competing school must submit, to the tournament director, a roster on VHSL Entry form by October 29th, 2023.The entries must be submitted on milestat.com by 11:59pm the same day. In addition to team qualifiers, anyone who places in the top 15 in their district championship race will also qualify for the Northern
Region Championship.
SEEDING:Teams
will be placed on the starting grid with district champions in the middle lanes and move outwards to the 6th seeds from the district races being on the outside lanes. Individual qualifiers will be grouped by district and be provided a starting box on the far ends of the starting line.
DETERMINATION OF REGION CHAMPIONS:
The team with the lowest points total winner will be declared the Region Champion for the boy's and girl's
race. The top 5 scores will count, in the event of a points tie the 6th place runner will be used as the tie breaker.
AWARDS:Trophies and 15 patches will be awarded for the first place & second place teams (boys & girls).Medals awarded for top 3 finishers (boys and girls). Presentation of awards will take place at the end of the girls' race and as soon as the official meet results are available, no later than 4:00 pm.The coach of the year is designated to the head coach of the winning team in each of the championship races.

ADVANCEMENT:Top 3 teams per Region and top 5 individuals not on one of the teams will advance to the VHSL State Cross Country Championships on Saturday November 11th at Oatlands Plantation, VA.
