THE BRADDOCK RELAYS
DATE: September 14, 2024- Under the Lights!
RACE SCHEDULE:
We will be limiting the field to 25 schools.
THE COURSE: The race will be run on multiple surfaces with some hills on the campus of Lake Braddock Secondary School. (Flats recommended over spikes) Each runner will run a 2500 meter loop. The course is quite spectator-friendly.
ENTRIES-HIGH SCHOOL: All entries are on Milestat. "A" relay is 5 runners; "B" relay is 5 runners. You must enter a time for each relay team. A best guess is all that is needed; we're not using them for seeding. All relays will run simultaneously so those races aren't seeded. All other runners are entered into the HS Open Race where you have unlimited entries. Seed times for the Open Race must be entered. As most don't know a 2500m time, USE YOUR OPEN RUNNER'S 3200m TIME AS THEIR SEED TIME. This will help us keep each Open Race competitive and spread the numbers as evenly as possible. Coaches who have already entered are kindly asked to log in and add seed times.
ENTRIES-MIDDLE SCHOOL & OTHERS: No need to preregister on Milestat. Entry Fees for Open, MS, and Youth races are included with your $5.00/person admission fee at the gate. Come to start/finish line to sign waiver before racing.
PAYMENT: $250/school. Checks made out to: LBSS with Braddock Relays in the memo. Send to: Lake Braddock Secondary School, ATTN: Jason Switzer, 9200 Burke Lake Rd Burke, VA 22015.
ADMISSION : Spectators: $5.00 entry fee at the entrance to the facility. Entry Fees for Open and Youth races are included with your entrance fee. No need to pre-register. Gate fee will be cash or via Etix app. Prepurchase tickets here. https://shorturl.at/eRdro QR code available at the gate.
AWARDS: We will award an overall boys and girls team champion based on team performance in 2 relays A, & B. A first place team finish in a relay race receives 5 pts, 2nd place receives 4 pts, 3rd place receives 3 pts., 4th place receives 2 pts, and 5th place receives 1 pt. The highest possible team score will be 10 points (2-1st place finishes). Tie Breaker is place in the A race. The top 10 boys and girls in the open races will receive medals.
