Region 4C Cross Country Meet at Oatlands Plantation

COURSE DESCRIPTION: A 5K course run on the grounds on Leesburg's historic Oatlands Plantation. The course is mostly grass, with rolling hills, some wooded trails, and two creek crossings. Runners can expect some short hills with sharp inclines. A spectator friendly course that requires very little walking.
COURSE OPENS: 11 a.m.
AWARDS: Awards will be presented following the girls race near the finish line.

ENENTRIES:Please enter your runners that advance to Region Meet on Milestat Region 4C Meet by Sunday, Nov. 3rd 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
ADMISSION: Admission will be charged according to Region 4C policy. The cost of
admission will be $10.00 per car. Region 4C, VHSL, VHSCA, VASSP, NASSP, VIAAA, and VHSL Principals Passes will be honored for the bearer only.
ADVANCEMENT: Top 3 teams and top 5 individuals exclusive advance to STATE MEET.
PARKING: Follow signs and attendants. Admission charge will be $10.00 per car. Exact change appreciated.
DRESS: No dressing room, dress at home. Portable restrooms are onsite for use.
Directions: From the South: Rt 29 North or I-66 to Rt 15 North. Rt 15 North approximately 18 miles to Oatlands Plantation on the right.
From the East: Rt. 267 (Toll Road) West to Leesburg. Left Lane at the end of the toll road. Less than .5 mile to second exit, Rt 15 South. Follow Rt 15 South approximately 5 miles to Oatlands Plantation on the left.
From the West: Rt 7 East to Leesburg. Follow Rt 7 Bypass to exit for Rt. 15 South. Follow Rt 15 for approximately 5 miles to Oatlands Plantation on the left.
STATE INFORMATION
ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS: Coaches will enter their athletes usingva.milesplit.com online entry service. State entry forms should be submitted to the region director for use in completing the region director's report. Before the deadline, Region Directors are to email the Region Directors report (typed) to the VHSL, Matt Oblas and Derek Farrey. The entry deadline is Saturday, November 9, 2024, by 8:00 pm.
SCHOOL AND INDIVIDUAL QUALIFYING LIMITS: Top 3 teams and top 5 individuals exclusive of qualifying teams from each region championship meet.
II. COACHES:
All Coaches are required to enter their state-qualifying athletes and/or teams through milestat.com. NO Password Required! All entries must be done by 8pm on Saturday, November 9th.

A. Parking Map
Car Parking: Please use the main driveway. Follow signs and parking attendants. Please have your ticket ready to be redeemed by the parking attendant or an event worker. Also, please inform your parents that the individuals helping with parking are volunteers and treat them with some respect.
Bus Barking: Please use Gap Road and follow the signs to the bus parking area.
B. Water: Each school is responsible for bringing water for their team or participants. Emergency water will be available for use by our athletic training staff in caring for injured athletes.
C. Tents: Must be erected in the designated area behind the starting line.
D. Course availability - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Friday, November 15th. In the case of severe weather, the course may be closed and will remain closed until Saturday, November 16th. IMPORTANT: If teams or individuals come up on others days to run the course, they must check in at the Carriage House and pay $10 or purchase online atOatlands Historic House and Gardens.
E. Please remind athletes to get through the finish line as quickly as possible and turn their chips into their coaches before leaving the event.
F. Competitors Numbers/Chip - Please make sure athletes have the correct competitor's number and assigned chips before the start of the race. The Chip number will correspond with the bib number. All chips must be returned to the packet pick-up location on the day of the championship. Any chip not being returned the day of the race will result in the school paying $25.00 per lost chip.
G. Results will be available for your race only. As soon as they are certified to be official, a complete set of results for all classifications will be available on https://va.milesplit.com.
