PENINSULA DISTRICT XC Invitational - Pre-Season 3K & 5K
Below is the final Meet/Race Day Information, please read:Welcome to all schools and participants!
1. PARKING: please drop off your athletes in the area near the parking lot.
Proceed down the road until you get to the end and make a right turn and
park in Pavilion #3.
2. PACKET PICK-UP & COURSE MAP: you may pick up the items near the
picnic table near the starting line.
3. COURSE: it will be marked with paint and orange flags.a. 3K 1x around the course
b. 5K 2x around the course
c. Marshals will be posted along the course
d. Course will be open upon arrival
4. RACES we will combine races with your approval.
a. 5K starts @ 4:00 p.m.
b. 3K starts after 5K races completed
5. AWARDS Top 15 runners for each division
6. REFRESHMENTS Kona Ice on sale
7. BATHROOMS located near the playground area.

early in the season to help your athletes improve.

You and your team are invited to participate in this years Peninsula District HS XC Invitational. The PD XC Invite is scheduled for Thursday, August 28th at Newport News Park 13506 Jefferson Ave. Newport News, Va. 23603. Newport News Park has been the home of the Al Dorner Cross Country Invitation, Peninsula District Regular Season Meets, and Bay River Schools Championship Meets. The course is mostly flat on a variety of terrains including grass, a gravel road and a wooded trail. Spikes are recommended. This meet is a VHSL sanctioned contest that will count towards your 10 regular season contest limits.
Schedule of Events:
The course will open at 3:00 p.m. (3000m & 5000m)
Coaches Meeting - 3:30
Varsity Girls Race (unlimited entries 5K) - 4:00 p.m. Varsity Boys Race (unlimited entries 5K)
Sub Varsity Girls Race (unlimited entries 3K) - 5:00 p.m. Sub Varsity Boys race (unlimited entries 3K)
If you have any 8th grade athletes competing, you MUST enter them into the Sub Varsity races. THERE ARE NO EXPECTATIONS THIS RULE.

Entry Deadlines: Entries are due through Milestat.com by Tuesday, August 26th @ 11:59 p.m.
Payment: Please submit your payment of $200 per school or $15 per athlete if you bring fewer than 5 runners. Please note, the $200 fee covers both the boys and girls contestants.

You can bring payment on race day. This is NOT a participation FEE. It is an ENTRY FEE. NO REFUNDS unless the MEET is CANCELLED.
Awards: In each race, medals will be awarded to the top 15 individuals, and NO team trophies will be awarded.
Restrooms: Restrooms (Portable Toilets) are available on site. There are no dressing rooms available.
Parking for buses at 1st Pavilion off the main drop off entrance. Spectators may park in the parking lot or along the driveway. Please do not park on the grass or on the gravel road adjacent to the picnic area. PD XC Invitational Team Packets: Team packets will be available for pick-up at the START LINE upon arrival. A hard copy of the course map will be provided in the team packet and online. Please use the trash bag included in the team packet to collect all trash from your team area.
