Meet Information
You and your team are invited to participate in this years Southside XC Invitational, Wednesday, August 27th at Anglers Park in Danville, VA. Anglers Park has been home of the Region 1B Cross Country Championships, Greater Danville Metro Cross Country Championships, and Galileo home meets in the past. The course is mostly flat on a variety of terrains including grass, a gravel road, a wooded trail, and two asphalt cross-overs measuring about 100 yards each. Spikes are recommended. This meet is a VHSL sanctioned contest and will count towards your 10 regular season contest limit.

Directions: Follow US-29/HWY-265 (Danville Expressway) and exit via the Dan Daniel Park ramp. From this point, follow the brown Public Boat Landing Anglers Park Signs which will lead you in the opposite direction of the Dan Daniel Park entrance onto Riverpark Drive. Once on Riverpark Drive turn right onto Stinson Drive and then turn left onto Northside Drive. Anglers Park is located at the end of this road.

Coaches Meeting - 4:30 p.m.
Open 3K - 5:00 p.m. (Boys and girls combined)
Girls Varsity 5K 5:30 p.m. (unlimited entries)
Boys Varsity 5k 6:15 p.m. (unlimited entries)

Entry Deadlines: Entries are due through Milestat by 6:00 pm, Monday, August 25th.
Registration will close once 15 schools have registered.
Awards: For the Open 3K race, the top 5 boys and top 5 girls will receive medals in the chute upon finishing. In each varsity race, medals will be awarded to the top 15 individuals, and team trophies awarded to the first and second place schools.
Payment: If you have not already done so, please submit your payment of $75 per school or $10 per athlete if you are bringing fewer than 5 runners. Please note, the $75 fee covers both the boys and girls contests. No extra cost for entering the Open 3K race if you are bringing your varsity teams. In the case you are only bringing a MS team for the Open 3K, the fee is $50.
Team areas: There is a large picnic shelter available on a first come first serve basis, but please be considerate to allow space for other teams to also utilize the shelter. Team canopies are acceptable and may be established anywhere that does not interfere with the 5K course route. Please leave the park cleaner than you found it and encourage guests of your teams to remain upon the paved areas.
Buses will park behind the picnic shelter.
Admission - There will be an admission charge of $5 CASH per vehicle. Please notify your team fans to bring cash and to arrive a few minutes earlier. Spectators may park in the parking lot or along the driveway. Please do not park in the grass or on the gravel road adjacent to the picnic area.
Team Packets: Team packets will be available for pick-up at the finish line upon arrival. A hard copy of the course map will be provided in the team packet. Please use the trash bag included in the team packet to collect all trash from your team area.
