Welcome to the 4th Annual

Run Eight "O" Four Invitational 2026

 This meet is presented by Henrico High School and John Marshall High School, along with the support of Eastend Lightning Track Club

Date: Saturday, Apr. 4, 2026 (Rain or Shine)

Our Invitational provides an opportunity to compete with all levels of quality competition. Being a sanctioned event, student/athletes can qualify for regional, state, and national postseason track meets, with an opportunity to be seen by many collegiate track coaches. All Virginia public/private schools as well as our surrounding border states are invited to compete at the home of Junior Olympic qualifying meets and Summer Series Invitationals and Classic track meets. Also we will feature  boys and girls freshman races (100 meters, 400 meters, 1600 meters). Don't miss the opportunity for great competition from all over VA, and bordering states! This event will fill up quickly!!

Facilities- The track is a collegiate, rubberized surfaced eight lane track. In addition, we utilize two collegiate style aprons equipped with very new mats for vertical pole vaulting & high jumping, and two horizontal jump pits. Shot and discus areas are adjacently located for great viewing. Fully Automated Timing will be provided by Final Lap Timing Group. There is enough space for canopies and tents to be placed on the outside of the stands.

Equipment: Meet management will provide starting blocks, no others will be allowed. Teams must provide own shot / discus / poles for vaulting.

Awards: Top 3 (brand new customized medals), male / female top scorer field events & male / female top scorer running events plaques, gender teams runner-up, and gender team champions trophy.

Location- Conveniently located in the Richmond Metropolitan area with access from Interstate 64 East and West, Interstate 95 North and South, Route 288 North and South, as well as Route 295 North and South, it enables convenient to travel from all over the state.

Admission -$10.00 for spectators all day pass (Cash Only) (ALL VHSL Passes will be ACCEPTED)

Parking - There is no charge for parking. Buses may park in large space parking area for buses. Parents and spectators parking is located adjacent to the tennis courts closest to Chappell Football Stadium.

Concessions/Vendors- Will be available on-site. 

Souvenir Tee-Shirts - Will be available for sale.

Packet Pick -up: Coaches can pick up their packets at the table located in front of the weight room across from the  stadium entrance gate.

Coaches Hospitality - There will be a coaches hospitality lunch available.

Officials' lunches - Will be provided.

Certified trainer - available on site /  must provide own tape.

Experienced Staff and Atmosphere- USATF officials who have experience in each of their respective events for numerous years will be on hand. They have more than a decade of experience and will ensure fairness and competitiveness while enforcing regulations and warning athletes of improper conduct. The atmosphere of the facility and staff includes a concession stand and vendors that serve food all day at the meet, and clean restrooms.

**Smoking is not permitted (Electronic cigarettes and vapes included). No Fire Arms - No Pets

Results: will be available live through www.milesplit.live by Final Lap Timing Group (https://www.finallaptiminggroup.com/). Current VHSL Covid protocols will be followed at the meet.

Affordability- Run Eight "O" Four Track Invitational understands how tight some school and track program's budgets can be, but we also want student-athletes to receive ample opportunities to compete by providing unlimited entries for school programs to gain more exposure, growth, while enjoying a great experience. The cost of our meet is $200 for one team/gender and $400 for two teams/ genders. Individuals are $25/person, with four or more athletes constituting a team. (Individuals must represent a high school). There will be no refunds on entry fees.

*Entries & Registration Information - All entries are due by April 1st at midnight.

Each team is allowed unlimited entries per event. Individual athletes may compete in three (3) running events including relays with the 3200 meters counting as two (2) events. An athlete may compete in unlimited field events. We want to help our student-athletes advance to the highest level of competition possible. 

If you are entering as an individual, that person must be affiliated with a high school. Individual entries are to be entered through the www.milestat.com website. Club teams, Unattached athletes, 8th graders, and home school athletes are not allowed to compete in this meet.

(Freshman / 9th grade races are exclusively for them only !) 

Note: Any 10th, 11th, or 12th grader inadvertently entered in freshman only events will automatically be moved to the varsity upperclassmen same event.

*Minimal Marks

For shot, discus, long, and triple jump, the first  legal mark will be recorded. After that, all marks must make the following distances (marks and option to establish minimal marks are tentative and may be adjusted).

Spikes- Only 1/4-inch pyramid spikes are allowed. Immediate disqualification will result if longer spikes are used. Coaches, please help us with this!

Scoring - The first eight places will score. The standard point distribution of 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 in each event will count towards the overall team score. (Only one of the multiple teams relays will score, but top 3 relay teams regardless of multiple teams will medal.)

Awards- Boys and girls (trophies) for 1st and 2nd place teams, Top three (medals) both genders, top scorers (plaques). Top M/F track event student-athlete & Top M/F field event student-athlete. Medals shall available 30 minutes after protest window elapses. Medals and awards will not be mailed if not picked up!!
