Central High School 12th Annual Cross Country Invitational Saturday, August 30, 2025

Location: North Street Cross Country Course in Woodstock (see attached directions).  Entry Fee: $150.00 for two teams (male/female)

Please submit payments by Friday, August 15, 2025. 

Entries:

We will run at least three races (Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, and at least one Developmental Race). Upon  seeing the number of entries, we will make a determination as to whether we will run one developmental  race or two. There will be no limit on the number of students who can run in the developmental race(s).  Please submit entries on MileStat no later than Tuesday, August 12, 2025at 11:00AM. Email Brandon  Lamma, Head Cross Country Coach, with questions (bmlamma@shenandoah.k12.va.us).

Coaches should enter ALL female runners in the Varsity Girls Race and ALL male runners in the Varsity  Boys Race on MileStat. A maximum of 8 runners may run in each of the varsity races, and you may decide  on the day of the event who runs in the varsity races and who runs in the developmental. 

Awards: 

Trophies will be awarded to the top-two teams in each varsity race. Individual Plaque will be awarded  to the top male and female finishers overall. 

Medals will be awarded to the top-15 finishers in the boys and girls varsity race.

Top 10 finishers will be awarded medals in the Developmental race

Admission: 

A free will donation may be made to the Kenny Rinker Sportsmanship Scholarship

Time Schedule: 

7:30AM Course available for walk-through 

8:30AM Coaches Meeting at the Starting Line 

9:00AM Varsity Race for Females, followed by the Varsity Race for Males, followed by the 

developmental race.

11:30AM  Approximate Start of Awards 

*All races will start five minutes after the last runner finishes in the preceding race.

Restrooms/Changing Facilities: There will be no changing facilities at the venue, only portable toilets. 

T-Shirts: T-Shirts will be available for purchase from Valley Sports Connection 

Concessions: Sugar Creek Snowy and Sweet Shop will be on-site selling food.

Timing:  Will be done by Blue Ridge Timing

Teams Attending: 

In order to create a more competitive meet, we will divide schools into three divisions (1A/2A, 3A, and 4A, 5A, 6A). 

Directions to North Street Cross Country Course: 

From I-81 South: 

o Take Exit 283 into the town of Woodstock. Turn right at the light as you exit I-81S. At the  second stoplight at the bottom of the hill by Sheetz, turn left onto Route 11 North. At the  fourth light you come to in the town of Woodstock, turn left onto North Street. Proceed  approximately 0.7 miles, and the course will be on the right side immediately before you  pass over the bridge above the interstate and before you get to the Woodstock water tower.  Bus parking will be next to the white farm house on the right. 

From I-81 North: 

o Take Exit 291 at Toms Brook. Turn left off of the interstate. Continue approximately one  mile and turn right onto Route 11 South. Pass through the towns of Toms Brook and  Maurertown until you enter Woodstock (approximately 5 miles). As you enter the town of  Woodstock, take a right at the first stoplight onto North Street. Proceed approximately 0.7  miles and the course will be on the right, immediately before you pass over the interstate  and before the Woodstock water tower. Bus parking will be next to the white farm house on  the right. 

For GPS directions, Fairview Park, 716 W. North Street in Woodstock will lead you closest to the  course. 

Spectator and Bus Parking: 

Ample parking is available for spectators. Parking is available for spectators in a grass lot at the entrance  to the course, along two cul-de-sacs across the street, and along Epard Lane, Kern Street, and Boyd Street  next to the course. Staff will be available to help direct spectators where to park.

Bus parking will be on the right immediately upon entering the course. Overflow bus parking will be by  the red barn and next to the red barn.

Course Description: 

The course has several locations for spectators to have prolonged views of runners (approximately one half of the course is visible). The course is for the most part level and has only gently rolling hills near the  start and alongside I-81N. The starting line is opposite the black fence from North Street. Runners then  run alongside wooded areas, corn fields, and soy bean fields for the bulk of the course. Below is a course  map.
