Location:  Western Albemarle High School Track, Crozet VA

Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026

Time: Coaches Meeting 0900 AM, Field events start 0900 AM, after the coaches meeting. Running events start 0930 AM with the 3200. We will hold one each of Boys and Girls heats unless there is a total of less than 16 runners.

Entry Fee: None for Alb County MS and $150 for all other schools 

Entries: Meet entries are due to Milestat by Thursday, Apr 16 at 4 PM. Teams may enter up to (4) athletes per grade in the 100, 200 nd 400 and (3) per event in all others and ONE (1) relay team, Please be honest with entry times/distances to maintain the integrity of seeding. Entries must be submitted via Milestat; no other forms of entry will be accepted.

Entries are limited to 360 athletes 

Athletes are allowed to compete in four running events and participate in as many field events as they wish.(Shot, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump) This meet is limited to Middle School ATHLETES ONLY. We will also have a 5th-grade 1600 and 200 that will not count towards team scores. (No more than 4- 5th Grade entries per team) 

Grade Level Competition - There will be grade level competition for the following individual events: 100-6,7,8,, 200-6,7,8, 400 6, 7,8, 800 6, 7, 8th,  1600 6,7th, then 8th , 3200 6/7 then 8th. Girls heats, then boys, slowest to fastest 

Blocks will be available only for the 100, but not required. 

LJ., HJ Discus and Shot and relays are MS mixed grades 6/7th then 8th--No triple jump or pole vault 

Scratches: Athletes may scratch from an event on the day of the meet and still compete in other events for which they are declared. 

Implements: Shots will be weighed and verified at the shot put area starting at 0900 AM. Shot Put, LJ and HJ will start at 0900, and Discus will start when Shot Put is done. 

Field Event Check-in/Out Procedure: Athletes participating in another event will be given no more than 15 minutes to return to their designated event. After that time, their name will be called and they will have one minute to complete their attempt, or it will be considered a foul/scratch. If a flight has completed before the athlete returns, that athlete will forfeit any remaining attempts. In the High Jump, the bar will not be held for a checked-out athlete. Once all competitors have finished at the current height, the bar will be raised. Athletes will be given a pass and will be allowed to take their remaining attempts at the next height.

Meet program 

3200, 100, 400, 200- 5th Grade 1st, 200H, 1600-5th Grade 1st, 200 H, 1600, 4x100, 800, Mixed SMR (G200, B200, G400, B800)-, 4x400 . Heats are Girls then Boys -Slow then Fast - for example, 100 goes with 6th Grade Girls, then 6th Grade Boys,  then 7th -8th etc.  Heats will be set and published NLT 17 April, and no changes can be made unless it is a scratch at the meet. On race day, if there is a minor change, such as a substitute runner in a specific heat, the timing crew must determine whether the change can be made. No changes will be made after 9:00 a.m. (meet start).

0830- Meeting of Volunteers and Officials 

0900-1100- Field Events -LJ and Shot, then HJ and Discus (start right after Coaches meeting) 

0900 - Coaches Meeting

0930-1000- 3200, 2 heats -G then-B- (Same sequence for all events) 

1015-1030- 100M Dash - 10-12 heats 

1030 400M Dash - 10-16 Heats 

1045 - 200 M Dash -10-12 Heats -5th Grade 1st

1100 - 200H- 2 heats-MS G then B

1115 - 1600 M Run  - 3-6 heats By Grade -G/B Together when less than 12 runners total

1145 - 4x100 Relay -2-4 Heats -MS G then B 

1205 - 800 Run - 4-6 Heats --G/B Together if fewer than 12 runners in a Grade

1235 - Mixed SMR - 1 Heat (G-B-G-B, 200, 200, 400, 800)

1300 - 4x400 Relay -2 Heats MS G then B 

Blocks will be used only for the 100. No blocks for other races. Rainbow starts are used for 800, 1600, and 3200 Heats. One Full lap stagger for, 400, and all relays. 

AWARDS- Medals for Top 3 in each event  and Top 3 in relays

Trophies to Top 2 Girls and Top 2 Boys Teams  

T-Shirts - A complimentary T-shirt with runners' names on the back will be provided at no cost to runners or coaches 

Facility: 

8-lane 200m rubber track, runways, and high jump area. No locker rooms available. Restrooms are located near the entrance.  Spikes: pyramid ONLY. All spikes must be checked between 0900 and 10:30 in the Spike Clerking Area. Please remove any zip ties from previous meets. Admission: $2 for spectators
Concessions: Food trucks will offer concessions throughout the day. Shaved Ice will also be available. Timing/Results: Live Results provided by Blue Ridge Timing. A link will be provided as the day of the meet approaches.

Miscellaneous: 

No changes (except scratches) after the entry deadline. Coaches are responsible for checking their entries prior to submission. Long Jump and Shot Put events will consist of 3 practice attempts, followed by 4 final attempts. Starting Heights for HJ: TBD based on entries.Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top 3 individuals and the top three relay teams. Trophies will be awarded to the top two boys and girls teams. Running events will be run from slowest to fastest.- Please be honest with seed times -
