VHSL Class 1 Region C Championships
Saturday February 21st, 2026
This meet will be with Region D and scored separately.
TEAM ASSIGNMENTS
Teams must stay on assignment until both girls and boys are over. Region C will use the inside sand pit and Region D will use the outside sand pit.

Entry deadline - Thursday, February 19th, at 8:00 p.m.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS:
-Teams may enter 3 entries per event and 1 relay team per relay event
Athlete Participation Limit: 3 running events and unlimited field events.
Athletes running the 3200, may ONLY compete in one other race.
Relay athletes must be entered in MileStat entries.
***NOTE: After declaration in a relay, that event counts as one of the 3 events. Any athlete entered into more than 3 running events is subject to disqualification.
ALL TEAMS WILL BE ASSIGNED TO WORK A FIELD EVENT OR AS HURDLE CREW. COACHES PLEASE REPORT TO YOUR FIELD EVENT BY 2:45 AND STAY UNTIL YOUR EVENTS ARE COMPLETED. EVENT ASSIGNMENTS TBD
FIELD EVENTS:
- Check-In: At event- 30 mins prior to the listed event time
- Check Out:15 minutes to check back into field event, after checking out for running event.
- Athletes checking in after their allotted time, a miss may be charged to them. (Rule 6-2. Art.4)
-Events will be in order of worst to best marks.
Long & Triple Jump
- 3 attempts with finals for top 9.
High Jump:
Starting Heights: TBD
Shotput:
-Only certified shotputs are to be in the throwing area.
- Weigh-ins occur 45 minutes prior to event.
- 3 attempts with finals for top 9.
Pole Vault:
Warm-up approaches shall only be run in the direction the event is conducted. (Rule 6-2 Art.7)
- Only certified poles are to be in the vault area.
- Weigh-ins will occur 45 minutes prior to event.
- Starting Height TBD
STATE MEET QUALIFICATIONS
The top three in each event at the region meet will advance to the VHSL State Meet. Also, anyone not placing in the top three at the region meet but meets the state qualifying standard at the region meet or a sanctioned meet during the regular season will also advance to the state meet
SCORING
-Standard 8 place scoring will be used, 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
ADMISSION: CASH ONLY - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR PARENTS KNOW THIS
Fan admission will be $10.00 and fans are not allowed entry until 2:45pm. CASH ONLY
BUS PARKING
-Buses will need to park at 310 North Market St or the Salem Civic Center
Team Area: Team camps will be located in the basketball arena.
Spikes: ONLY 1/4 pyramids are allowed on the fieldhouse surface.
Facility: 6 lanes (8 lane straightaway) 200 m flat Beynon BSS 1000 Hobart textured surface with the widest allowable NCAA turn radius. There are 2 LJ/TJ runways, 1 throwing area, 1 High Jump area, and 1 pole vault runway.
Electronic Devices: Athletes are "not allowed" to have any electronic devices on or inside the Indoor track this can and will result in disqualification for this meet.

2:00 -Teams may enter facility
2:30 - Coaches Meeting behind the timing table in the track.
3:00 - Field Events Start - girls followed by boys for each event
4:15 - 4 x 800 relay (girls followed by boys) (Region C followed by Region D)
REGION C WILL GO FIRST IN ALL RUNNING EVENTS FOLLOWED BY REGION D
RUNNING EVENTS ROLLING SCHEDULE - Finals in all other running events will start at approximately 5:00 or as soon as field events are completed and we will be on a rolling schedule
