J.R. Tucker High School invites all Richmond metro area schools to the first-ever Richmond Metro Sub-Varsity Championships. This isn't just another meet. It's the definitive season finale for your sub-varsity athletes who have put in the work all year. Before the season officially crosses the finish line, give your sub-varsity squad one last chance to chase a PR and earn some hardware.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to any high school athlete (regardless of grade), so long as they have not hit a regional qualifying mark this season.
Meet Info:
- Registration: Opens Sun, Mar 1 @ 12:00am | Closes Tuesday, May 19 @ 11:59pm
- Admission: Spectators $8 via GoFan (Athletes admitted with uniforms)
- Sanctioning: Virginia only. Public & private school teams are welcome.
- Password: Contact Coach Jay (jrtxctf@gmail.com) to ask for password.
- Entry Fees: $200 per team (boys and girls together)
- Online Pay: Via Online School Payments (4% fee applies). Include team name in Purchase Notes.
- Limits: 50 entries per team (regardless of gender). Spend them however you want in running events (some restrictions on the 3200m). Field events are capped at 3 per school per event. Details below. Meet maximum of 600 total entries.
- Need more entries? Attending teams may earn more entries by providing a coach or volunteer to work a field event. Contact Coach Jay for details.
- Awards: Top 3 receive medals, 4th - 8th receive ribbons
- Concessions: Available
- Hospitality: Concessions tickets for all coaches and volunteers will be provided.

- Senior Night Celebration : 5:15pm
- Start Time: 5:30pm Running Events / 5:30pm Field Events
- Heats: Fast to slow. Girls precede boys.
- In-field: Restricted to coaches and athletes preparing to compete
- Weather: We will compete rain or shine.
- Refunds: We will offer a complete refund should the meet be cancelled, or if your team cannot attend due to forces beyond your control (must be verified by your Athletic Director). We also reserve the right to cancel specific events if delays prevent completion by a reasonable hour (9:00 PM). In such cases, or if the meet is terminated early, we will refund entry fees for incomplete events. No refunds will be issued for standard scratches or processing fees.
- Events: 100m / 110m Hurdles, 100m, 1600m, 400m, 800m, 300m Hurdles, 200m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus
- Not Offered: 4x100m, 4x400m, 4x800m, Pole Vault
- We aim to finish by 8:30pm.

Running Event Notes:
- Blocks: Available for Top 3 heats of sprint/hurdle races (400m & below)
Field Event Notes:
- Field Limits: Field events are capped at 3 per school per event.
- Long Jump: Open Pit. 3 Attempts.
- Triple Jump: Open Pit. 3 Attempts. ***This is a new add as of 5/14 and will not have awards***
- High Jump: Girls opening height is 4'0". Boys opening height is 5'0".
- Shot Put: 3 Throws. Open Circle.
- Discus: 3 Throws. Open Circle.
