BULL RUN DISTRICT TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026
Date: Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Time: Field events 4:30 pm- 4 x 800 relay 5:00 pm, remaining running events 5:45 pm
Field Events- Shot, Discus, Long/Triple Jump will be 3 attempts and then 9 brought back to finals.

- Coaches Meeting: Coaches meeting will be at 4 pm in the bullpen area along with packet pick up.
- Entries: Each team may enter 3 competitors for each individual event. If you have 4 or more athletes that have achieved a district mark in the Spring 2026 season, please email Mary Clanahan with all names and meet in which marks were achieved Prior to Monday May 18, 2026. Schools may also enter ONE 4x800, ONE 4x100 and ONE 4x400 meter relay team. All entries to the District meet must be entered online on Milestat.
- Entry deadline is Sunday, May 17 at Noon. If you use hand times, they must be rounded up to the nearest tenth, and add .24. Scratches must be made by Tuesday, May 20 at Noon.
- We will follow the declaration rule for running events. You may scratch in a running event and still participate in following events with no penalty which also includes relays. However, if you are declared in your maximum number of events, you cannot scratch one of those and run in a relay. Athletes may participate only in events entered on your Milestat entry form. Please include your relay members and alternates on your roster in MILESTAT. A performance list will be posted on Milestat after all entries are in for corrections and confirmation. Once all corrections are confirmed, a meet program will be sent with all flights and heats.

- Facilities: The Generals track is 400 meters/8 lanes. The track surface is rubberized. The shot and discus circles are concrete. Flats or inch spikes may be used on the runways and track. We will use the field edge for line-ups for each running event. During the entire meet only athletes competing in current and upcoming events will be allowed on the field edge. Warm-ups need to be done on the back straightaway or in the parking lot closest to the stadium. Athletes can also use the in field or the grass area near the middle school.
- No one may be inside any of the MAIN BUILDINGS, this will results in an automatic disqualification form the meet..
- No parents or spectators will be allowed on the infield. Athletes will need to report to the bullpen by the 2nd call of all running events. Failure to report to the bullpen could result in being scratched from a race.
- Coaches will be allowed on the infield to help assist with exchange zones and to keep athletes away from the track. No athletes should be inside the fenced track area unless they are reporting to the bullpen and they must remain behind the white line (boundary) of the soccer field.
- Weighing of shot and discus will take place at the scoreboard area at 3:45 pm. Shots and discus that are impounded may be picked up at the conclusion of the meet at the medals pick up Red Barn..
- Awards & Scoring: 8 places will be scored on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 point system, the District will medal the Top 3 places in each event and award Male/Female MVP for Top Point Scorer. Team championship trophies will also be presented at the end of the meet.
- Officiating Assignments: Schools will be assigned field events to run or relay exchange zones to judge during the 4 x 100 relay. We are asking that each school provide 2 coaches to be turn judges/exchange zone judges for the relay events. These people must be knowledgeable in the event they are running. Students may assist with tasks such as raking pits or rolling implements back.

Admission: General Admission - $8.00 CASH ONLY
Passes: The following passes will be honored: VHSCA, VHSL Coaches Pass, VAASP, VIAAA, VHSL Principals Pass, and working press with identification. The Bull Run District does not accept VHSL State Event passes or County/School ID badges
Concessions: Will be available throughout the event as well as SUGAR CREEK ICE CREAM.
