New River Invitational

Meet Date April 10th, 2026

Each school will be limited to 3 athletes in each individual event and 1 relay team.  Schools will be allowed to enter additional athletes in individual events for $10 per event. To have these additional athletes added, please e-mail athlete names and times/marks to Shane Dalton at kdalton@gilesk12.net.

 VHSL rules regarding event limitations will apply.

Entry Deadline: Entry must be submitted on MileStat by Thursday April 9th at 8:00AM. No substitutions are allowed in individual events, but are in relays.

Entry Fee: $100.00 per school. For schools bringing just a few individuals, the cost is $10 per athlete. 7 or more athletes are considered a team.

Scoring: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 (No Medals/Ribbons awarded)

Timing: Giles High School Timing (FinishLynx)

Field Events: Each participant will be given 4 total jumps and throws. (No Finals) Shot and Discus will be in flighted based off on entries. Starting height for high jump will be determined based on the entries that we get in.   We will let you know what the starting height is at the coaches meeting.

Facilities: 6 lane rubberized track, all jumps facilities are rubberized. (1/8" spikes only)

Scratches: Known scratches for all running events must be received by April 9th (Thursday) at 12:00 P.M. Scratches can be e-mailed to Shane Dalton at kdalton@gilesk12.net.  Field event scratches can be made at the coaches meeting the day of the meet. No new entries will be accepted after the 9th at 8 AM.

Admission: $7.00 per person.

If there is no cross over with the 4x800 and 3200, we will run the 3200 at the beginning of the track meet, probably around 11:30-11:45. 4x800 and 3200 may be combined boys/girls depending on entries.

NOTES:

Heats will be seeded and ran slowest to fastest based off entries.

Team camps will be set up in the bleachers on the home side (OPPOSITE OF PRESS BOX) of the stadium.
The Press Box side will be for spectators.
Warm up areas will be behind the team camp bleachers and athletes are only allowed on the football field after their event has been called.
Athletes and coaches can only enter the track at the gate near the team camp bleachers.
