Northside Viking Invitational

Time Schedule:

7:45 am Packet pick-up begins

8:00 am Open Race Free for coaches, $10 registration

8:15 am Brief Coaches Meeting

8:45 am Girls  6th/7th/8th grade Middle School Race 

9:30 am Boys 6th/7th/8th grade Middle School Race

10:15 am Girls  - 9th/12th - 5K

10:45 am Boys  9th/12th - 5K

PARKING:  $5 per car - Parents may park in the high school stadium lot or the middle school lot. 

Buses can drop teams off at the entrance to the stadium and park in the middle school parking lot. 

Concessions: Bake Sale items

Team Camps: student-athletes may make their camp in the football stadium bleachers, or in the grassy areas surrounding the stadium. There is plenty of room.                     

Entry Fee: $100.00 per High School team ($150.00 if you are bringing a boys and girls team). Team fee for Middle School teams is $50 per team or $75 for boys and girls teams. $10.00 per athlete if there is no full team. Please make checks out to "Northside High School" with "XC Invitational" in the memo section. Payment can be sent to Coach Kristin Hunt, Northside HS Cross Country, 6758 Northside HS Road, Roanoke, Va., 24019 or hand carry to the meet.

Distance: 5K HS; 3K MS/OPEN (95% grass/trail and 5% asphalt/gravel 

Course Description: First 1 mile is fairly flat with a few low grade hills, mile two runs through our 3/4 mile woods loop trail, the final mile is rolling grassy hills to finish on the track in the football/soccer stadium. This race is spectator friendly. This is the same course from 2024 for both high school and middle school. 

Awards:
First Place Varsity Girl and Boy will receive a pair of Balega running socks.
Top five varsity Girls and Varsity Boys will receive a medal. 
Top five boys and girls middle school runners will receive a medal.
