Meet Information
I believe this is actually the 33rd or the 34th annual Run for Sight and I just haven't updated the top of the form. It is a fund raiser for the Wards Corner Lions Club which serves and donates to several local charities. The focus for the proceeds from this race have always been disabled activities and athletics.
I consider Norfolk Academy's 5k course to be the fastest one around so we host this race here one week after States and one week before Footlocker to give high school runners a chance to PR at the end of the season on a grass cross country course. The course is mainly on perimeteres of athletic fields and finishes with 300m on a rubber track. Chris Werner of Western Branch set the course record at 15:36.5 in this race two years ago. On the girls end Barbara Strehler has the course record at 17:39.
