Open to first 20 boys and girls teams to enter. To reserve a spot enter on Milestat.com and email Coach Mark Tompkins at mtompkins@ycsd.york.va.us or call (757) 784-2281.

Payment will secure entry into meet. Payment must be received before athletes will be allowed to compete. Payments can be made on race day.

Busch Garden 1 day passes will be eligible for purchase for a discounted rate of $39.95 two weeks prior to the race. These will be one day passes for any participants in the Panther Invitational.

Registration closes on August 24th, 2011 at 11:59PM

Cost is $5.00 for athlete with maximum cost of $200.00 for a complete Varsity and JV Boys and Girls Teams.

Varsity runners: grades 9-12. Maximum of 5 runners per team in all varsity races. Teams may enter an A, B, and C team in the Varsity race.

JV race relay (Open Race): grades 8-12 graders . Unlimited entries in JV races. (5 athletes per team) (JV type runners only)

Course is located at New Quarter Park in Williamsburg, VA.
The course has grass, and dirt, small spikes can be worn.

Course is mainly flat on large grassy field and dirt road. The relay course will be approx. 3200 loop course. Each team member will run 2 loops approx. 1 mile each and when the athlete enters the relay exchange zone the other team member may start there leg. The relay exchance zone will be a box approx 20 ft wide and a 30m long.

Timing: Timing will completed using 2 Lap Top's using Race Tab. Back up timing will be completed with 2 print timers. Times will be reported for total time of 5 runner's per team. If you want your athletes names reported with the team time please make sure to turn in your Relay cards.

Coaches we will not be able to provide split times for the relay's. Please record splits for your athletes.

Directions:
From Interstate 64: Take exit 242B (Yorktown Colonial Parkway Water Country USA) to Rt. 199.
Stay on Rt. 199 until the Colonial Parkway intersection. Enter Colonial Parkway towards Williamsburg (west). Exit the Colonial Parkway at the Queens Lake intersection. Turn right onto West Queens Drive for about 200 feet. Make an immediate left-hand turn onto Lakeshead Drive (the first street on the left) and follow this road until you reach the park entrance.

From Route 143: At the Rt. 143. Penniman Road traffic light (coming from Newport News), turn right onto Penniman Road (Magruder Elementary School is on the corner). Turn left onto Hubbard Lane (the first street on your left). After you go under the overpass, make an immediate right-hand turn onto Lakeshead Drive and follow this road until you reach the park entrance.

Time SchedulePick-up packets at table next to starting line. 6:30-7:30 AM. For any teams arriving later packets will be in a box by starting area. Varsity Girls Relay race......8:00 AM
Varsity Boys Relay Race.....9:15 AM
JV Boys and JV Girls Relay....10:30 AM
(Due to the heat in August the JV Girls and Boys race will be combined open race)
(Race should end at approx. 11:45 AM)

Awards: Medals will be handed out to the final finisher for the five athletes on the 1st and 2nd place teams. Awards can be given to the same teamI.E Relay team 1) (A School) Relay Team 2 (A School).

Plaques will be available for pick up next to the finish line area.

Plaques will be awarded to the first two teams in the Varsity races.

Medals will be awarded to the top 2 teams in the Varsity races.

Medals will be awarded to the first two teams in the JV races. (Boys and Girls)

Brooks spike bags will also be awarded to the top team athletes in each race.
