Coverage
On what was a tough day for an outdoor meet with overcast skies and a high of just 54 degrees, the Georgetown track & field program traveled close by to Fairfax, Va., for the Mason Spring Invitational hosted by George Mason University. Despite the rough conditions, the Hoyas fared well against the competition and continued to qualify student-athletes for the conference championship in May.
A trio of juniors in Shericka Ward (Leesburg, Fla.), Christie Verdier (Baldwin, N.Y.) and Julia Arduini (Fairfield, Conn.) all won individual events as Villanova competed in the George Mason Spring Invite at George Mason Stadium on Saturday afternoon and evening. There was no team scoring in the meet, although the Wildcats registered six finishes in first or second place of particular events.
