Slowed before, runner now off to races

Things started going haywire about the first mile. Sabrina Hall (pictured right by Scott Rigler) would love to be able to tell you about it if she could only remember.

Others knew something was amiss for the then Pulaski County High School junior.

"You could see as she was running that her eyes were starting to roll back in her head," Cougars coach Jamie McCarty recalls.

Somehow or another, she kept running. Even though she hardly knew if she was on this planet or visiting another distant part of the galaxy, Hall had enough sense of place to keep putting one unsteady foot in front of the other.
