Highlighting this year's competition are a few events but the real kicker of the meet will be the boys 2 Mile race. It has a field with over 18 state titles under their belts and of course Drew Hunter the indoor national champion at 2 Miles. With him leading the way and other FL Finalists Seufer and Willcutts pushing the pace we are in for quite the show. Don't sleep on Sam Teller or Brad Swiney as they are no slouches either at this distance.
Our prediction: Drew Hunter 8:41 state record
Next on the Mount Rushmore of events this year will be the girls triple jump. Entering the competition as the favorite for the event is Thomas Dale freshman Titiana Marsh who had an indoor best of 41-2 this year which won her the 6A State title, not forgetting of course that her mark was a freshman national record too. She is going to have to jump over 40ft though as three time 5A State champion LaChyna Roe (Henrico) will be here again trying to hop, skip, and jump her way to another STC title too. Roe has a pr of 40-7 in the triple jump. Both of them will also be joined by Maya Hanks (Tabb) who went 40-5.75 to win the 4A State title. This could rival the legendary 2006 STC where four girls leaped over the 40ft barrier and it took 40-8.75 to win it.
Our prediction: Titiana Marsh 41-4
