Kate Murphy Opens Her Season Up
Entering the season our biggest story line was looking at the tough choice Kate Murphy had ahead of her between Foot Locker and NXN. She has since made the decision to pursue team glory and possibly individual glory at NXN. This means this is merely a preview for the Bruins as they race this course in November.
This weekend though all eyes in the nation will be on Kate Murphy as she takes to a cross country course for the last-first time as a high schooler. She is opening up on the perfect course for her too, a nice fast one that should produce a very fast time.
Each year Kate has improved by leaps and bounds and you can see it in every workout as she drives to be better with each step. If she recovered well from a very long track season then the entire nation is in for a treat this weekend.
Kate has the speed and ability to dip well under 17:00 and it is not crazy to think of her running 16:40 as a season opener at WakeMed. If the weather cooperates this is going to be a fast race and beyond exciting if you are a fan of Team VA.
