The Tuscarora boys and girls made it a sweep of both team and individual titles in the Conference 14 race to wrap up Wednesday's action at Oatlands. The 2-time defending 5A state cross country girls champions from Tuscarora showed off their impressive front running with Ava Hassebrock shooting out to a lead in the first mile before her teammate Emma Wolcott (1st, 18:40) closed on Hassebrock (2nd, 18:50) in the final mile for their team to go 1-2.
The Tuscarora boys were also lead to victory with a first place finish from their front runner in junior Derek Johnson, who had to deal with Stone Bridge senior Matthew Sapsara (2nd, 16:27) before really gapping him in the final mile for a 21 second margin of victory in 16:06. The Tuscarora boys averaged under 17 minutes as a squad on the challenging Oatlands course en route to the team win.
