James Monroe had a strong 1-2 punch out in front for the Conference 28 race with the senior Hunter Frizzell (16:57) able to hold off his sophomore teammate Mitch Dolby (17:00) after both made late surges to move up and ahead of the rest of the field.
The Riverside boys, another fairly new Loudoun County school, were able to pack up on James Monroe as well as traditional powerhouse Brentsville to claim the team title with their remarkable 33 second spread for their top 5 runners.
In the girls race, Brentsville left no doubt who the superior team was for Conference 28 sweeping the top 3 places individually led by Lydia Goetz winning in a time of 19:27 followed by teammates Allison Rice (2nd, 19:47), and Kelsey Luther (3rd, 19:59).
