Facility Information
This brand new track facility will be one of the greatest in the entire nation. Liberty University spared no expense in making this a world class facility not only catered towards elite performances but also to making it a great venue to host national and international championship level competitions.
The facility itself is just over 110m long and roughly 60m wide. It features 1400 permanent seats on the home stretch side and the ability to add an additional 2000 seats easily. It also has a state of the art team staging area on the back stretch. This area is roughly 50ft wide by 100m long and is located on the second floor allowing athletes and teams to watch all of the competition from one of the best vantage points in the building.
For warming up, the facility has an eight lane 100m long warmup track located directly under the team staging area. For the VA Showcase, this area will be set up as an oval for lap warmups and on the inside we will set up both 55m warmup areas and hurdle drill and running warmup areas. It will be the ideal place to warmup if the weather is cold.
The track is a competition level Beynon surface and one of the first in the entire world. It is also a hydraulically banking 200m track that can raise from flat to fully banked in just under two minutes. The track will also have double pole vault and horizontal jump runways. One of each is on each side.
Finally the facility will also have a nine lane competition straight on the infield that can be set up for the 55m and/or 60m distances.
