Who From Team VA Could Bring Home The Titles This Weekend?

Distance Races

Despite a lack-luster regular season due to injuries, this weekend looks to highlight some of the great talent VA has in the distance races. In the longest of these races will be Libby Davidson (E.C. Glass) fighting to finally take home that 5K national title as a senior. She is coming back from injury so she is not quite 100% but Libby at 80% can win so keep an eye on this one.

In the shortest of the distance races VA will also have a serious shot at seeing someone from the Old Dominion State winning with Brandon McGorty taking to the track in the 800. He will have arguably the toughest competition of anyone outside of those racing Sammy Watson. McGorty's toughest competition will be from fellow sub 1:48 runner Cameron Cooper (Team Motor City - Mi.).

Finally in the mid-distance races, the Miles we will see our best chance ever to sweep the event. Both Rachel McArthur (Patriot) and Waleed Suliman (Douglas Freeman) will take to the track in hopes of the race playing into their favor. Both of them may not be the fastest time trial-ers but they certainly have unequalled kicks. If their races are close then expect something historic from them.
