It is not secret that VISAA athletes sometimes do not get the same amount of love that VHSL athletes get but that is going to chance because VISAA has a star in their ranks. Hannah Ballowe, only a sophomore from Saint Catherine's, enters next season as the top returning 800m running in the entire state.
Her time of 2:11.30 is 17th all-time in Virginia and she is on pace to be one of the fastest ever in the state's history.

Hannah impressively tallied up six state titles in 2017 and in 2018 it could be even more. She has yet to run a full XC season and if she does it could be scary for the rest of the state. She is not only an 800 runner though, she is arguably a mid-distance expert from the 400 to 1600m distance.
Expect big things in the coming two years from this soon to be Saint Catherine's junior.
